By Juliana Corredor González, member of the Rotary E-Club of Latin America
This first E-RYLA in Latin America is an initiative started by my Rotary E-Club of Latin America and our E-Rotaractors of Latin America, two completely virtual clubs. The event will be taking place over three Sundays in May, each consisting of a 4-hour seminar through Zoom.
The success of planning this E-RYLA is undoubtedly the participation of young people in the entire process. From planning the program, recruiting panelists, creating promotional images and content—it’s a youth-led invitation for fellow youth!
Many of the participating Rotaract members are very successful young professionals with great skills in communication, design, marketing, technology, etc., which helps spread the high-quality, motivating messages aimed at youth. Their innovative ideas, coupled with new technologies, are very valuable for planning this virtual event.

Our planning team also includes Rotarians with varied professional experiences who have generously offered their time and skills, supporting the efforts and actions of our Rotaractors. This whole process, without a doubt, has been a great opportunity to learn and collaborate.
Making an E-RYLA a reality is a great challenge, considering the virtual context, the required technology, the time differences and the physical distance of those who are part of the planning and assisting team. However, everyone’s contributions, commitment and passion for our organization is helping make this event a success. We have more than 900 registered participants from 30 countries!
The event will be in Spanish and thanks to the generosity of distinguished Rotarians from different countries, it will be free of charge to give young people who would not otherwise have access to an unprecedented event like this one the opportunity to join.
During our event, we will be joined by excellent world-class panelists, some who are very young, to share their experiences on topics such as successful decision-making, strategic thinking, managing emotions, entrepreneurship, projects, among other topics.

During an event focused on youth leadership, it’s important to give young people the opportunity to hear from peers and to connect with new friends from different countries, even more so considering the current situation due to the pandemic.
Our E-RYLA aims to Connects Youth and Rotary Connects the World. For more information visit our website and Facebook page.
